Gaming in the Lap of Luxury

If gaming is your forte, you can't do better than the newly expanded Mohegan Sun Resort and Casino located in Uncasville, CT.  There are adult only two casinos The Earth Casino and The Sky Casino with Planetarium Dome near Woombi Rock, both jam packed with every conceivable game of chance you can imagine, slots from 25 cents to 10 dollars, video draw poker machines, Blackjack Bonanza, many types of poker like pai-gow and carribean stud plus traditional poker tables, baccarat, midi-baccarat, a keno parlor, craps and roulette. All of these games are under the two gigantic domes of exotic native American design.  Hard core gamers are invited to join the Mohegan Player's Club that gives you points for dollars gambled which are redeemable for bonuses of various types from restaurant credit, to gas credit at the local 20 pump Citgo station, concert ticket credit to room credit.  There are also discounts for Players Club members from dozens of Connecticut stores and merchants.  Membership is free.  There is also a new, smoke-free casino area.

The new triple towered 34 story hotel by architect David Rockwell boasts 1,176 rooms and is the height of luxury and comfort with in room 22 channels of  27" color TV, free Internet access via a high speed Ethernet connection
( hook up cable included ) for your laptop, iron and ironing board, hair dryer, security safe in room with convenience bar - plus one of the most comfortable beds you will ever lie down on - with lots of pillows. Security abounds with cameras in the hallway ceilings and more.  There are several spacious garages with both valet and self parking availability and more than 4,500 spaces including ultra-wide handicapped facilities.  The new convention center and ballroom is available to cater your business meeting opr exposition.  Entertainment abounds in the 300 seat cabaret where you can enjoy king sized drinks while listening to top celebrity entertainers like Tony Bennett and Cher. Arena football with the home team, the Mohegan Wolves, ladies' basketball tournaments and more.

Shopping is a pleasure with more than 30 upscale specialty shopping mall to browse.  I especially liked SeaOdyssey with its giant aquariums about the store so you can watch the sharks while you shop....and they can watch you!  There are also more than 29 restaurants of all cuisines from ribs and seafood to continental and asian cuisine and a good old fashioned 1950's diner.

Other amenities include - a shallow indoor pool with health food bar, handicapped facilities and hot tub.
Then, there is Elemis - a luxury 20,000 sq. foot spa and health club where you can pamper yourself with mud therapy or a massage in several styles.  There is also an outdoor sunbathing area and  an amusement arcade.  Youngsters can enjoy Kids Quest hourly child care facility with licensed child care professionals and supervised LEGO playroom for the youngsters 6 to 12.
